Dan had worked and travelled in Canada before and stayed on in 1994 to ocus on other art work. he started painting giant canvas murals for American clients and has to date produced over 100 mural paintings for venues across the states. Dan had tried for years to engage art departments in London and abroad for concept work or design work in film, frustrated with the lack of opportunity, In 2006 he made an experimental film in Nottinghamshire, which allowed him to combine story ideas and art department along with moving image. This made him realise that to get work on a film it might be best to make another himself, and so put forward a story proposal to 'DV shorts' for a short film concept called 'Shadowline'. Which is now being completed.
